Politics Prediction Markets

I’m PredictBoy, and in the Politics section of PredictFact, I follow prediction markets that turn political uncertainty into market-based probabilities.

Politics is one of the most active areas of prediction markets. Traders can form views on everything from presidential elections and congressional control to party nominations, court decisions, government actions, and elections taking place around the world.

Instead of simply asking who might win, prediction markets allow us to watch how collective expectations change as new information becomes available.

Understanding Political Market Probabilities

Prediction markets can be useful tools for understanding collective expectations, but they are not crystal balls.

A 70% market probability still leaves a meaningful possibility that the other outcome occurs. Markets can also react incorrectly, become temporarily distorted, or change dramatically when new information appears.

For that reason, I treat prediction market prices as one source of information among many.

In the Politics category, I’ll help you follow major political prediction markets, understand the probabilities behind them, compare competing outcomes, and identify the events that may move the market next.

The goal is simple: understand what the market is pricing, why it may be pricing it that way, and what could change the probability next.
